Installation overview
Prerequisites
As a first step towards installing the Ensim Unify Hyper-V Service on Ensim Unify you have to deploy and configure VMM and Hyper-V physical hosts in a specific manner. These steps are needed to ensure that Ensim Unify can make appropriate API calls to SCVMM for provisioning.
Installation of Hyper-V Service 1.0.0 in Ensim Unify
To install the Ensim Unify Hyper-V Service onto Ensim Unify, you need to complete the following tasks:
• Install the Ensim Unify Hyper-V service plug-in onto the PE servers (page 6). You must install the installer of the Ensim Unify Hyper-V Service plug-in HyperVPESetup.exe on the PE servers. If you are using multiple PE servers, you need to install the service plug-in on each server.
Caution: You must first install the Ensim Unify Hyper-V Service plugin on any one of your PE servers before installing them on the CP servers.
• Install the Ensim Unify Hyper-V Service plug-in onto the CP servers (page 6). You must install the installer of the Ensim Unify Hyper-V Service plug-in HyperVCPSetup.exe on the CP servers. If you are using multiple CP servers, you need to install the service plug-in on each server.
Configuring SCVMM 2008 for deployment
You need to create Self-Service Roles, VM Templates, and Hosts on SCVMM Server properly so that Ensim Unify can use them for deployment of Organizations and users.

System requirements
To install the Ensim Unify Hyper-V Service, you need to have the following installed and configured:
• Ensim Unify Platform 4.0.0 or later.
• SCVMM. You must have SCVMM 2008 installed and configured according to the prerequisites described above.
Installation Prerequisites
Ensim Unify Hyper-V Service has been designed to work in unison with SCVMM. This helps leverage the existing capabilities of SCVMM 2008 for large scale deployment.
Technical Overview
The following diagram explains the deployment architecture of various server nodes in Unify domain.
1 The VMM Server must be joined to Ensim Unify domain. The VMM server should ideally be installed on a highly available VM.
2 Each of the Provisioning Engine servers in Unify must have the SCVMM Admin console installed. The Admin console module contains all the PowerShell Cmdlets that Unify invokes to provision VMs and Users. You need to install PowerShell 1.0 prior to installing the Admin Console. Please follow MS guide for the same.
3 You need to install SCVMM Self Service Portal on a server in Unify domain. You can install it on the VMM server as well.
4 The Physical hosts on which SCVMM will create VMs could be of three types –
i. Hyper-V enabled Perimeter Hosts. You need to install SCVMM remote agent to enable SCVMM work with these hosts.
ii. Hyper-V enabled Hosts within Unify domain.
iii. Hyper-V enabled Hosts from another domain. A trust relationship must be enabled between these domains and Unify.
SCVMM Installation instructions
1 VMM Server.
i. First of all, on a vanilla Hyper-V enabled host (or two hosts for highly available VMM Server), create a resourceful VM suitable for Installing VMM Server.
ii. Join the VM into Ensim Unify AD Domain.
iii. Install VMM Server component. Use default port (8100) only. Don’t change the port.
2 VMM Self Service Portal. You can either install this on the VMM server itself or on a separate server.
3 Install SCVMM Admin console on each of the PE servers in Unify. You may want to install this on other suitable computers for your own use.
4 Install SCVMM remote agent on all the Perimeter hosts.
5 Allow a trust relationship between Unify any other AD domains if you want to manage servers
from the same.
Verification
On each of the PE servers, ensure that you can open VMM Admin console and connect to the VMM server using the default port 8100.
